PDF has concluded the second edition of the IgnitED 2025 competition, held under the theme “Empowering the Future: Clean and Renewable Energy Solutions.” The initiative aims to empower Egyptian youth aged 12 to 16 to explore innovative solutions to sustainable energy challenges.
The event was attended by key figures including Mr. Mohamed Farouk Hafeez, PDF - Chairman , and Dr. Mohamed El Okby, Assistant to the Minister of Social Solidarity for Strategic Communication and Media, and official spokesperson of the Ministry .
This year’s competition attracted an outstanding participation of 500 students representing 33 schools from 9 Egyptian governorates. The students were divided into 50 teams across three main disciplines: robot design, app development, and website development.
One of the most notable features of the 2025 edition was the introduction of remote learning for the first time, enabling students from remote areas to participate. This contributed to a 24% increase in digital participation, reflecting a significant step toward expanding access to educational and innovation opportunities nationwide.
